Funding Awards

The Foundations focus primarily on mission-related, targeted priorities and proactively seek organizations and programs to support, rather than operating as a traditional foundation with a grant-cycle framework.

Working cooperatively with other agencies and organizations, the Foundations identify community needs that can be significantly impacted by investing financial and other resources. The Foundations then initiate collaborative efforts with the most appropriate partners to develop an approach that best addresses the need. Rather than duplicating existing services, every effort is made to support organizations already addressing a particular targeted issue.

The Foundations’ focus on health and quality of life is broad and concentrated primarily on mission-related, targeted priorities, including the following in central and southeastern Ohio:

  • Improving access to oral health care
  • Reducing the prevalence of overweight/obesity
  • Resolving health care workforce shortages
  • Enhancing access to health care services
  • Ensuring quality aging
  • Reducing homelessness.

The commitment to osteopathic medical education and research includes the following areas:

  • Expanding and enhancing osteopathic post-graduate medical education programs
  • Improving the quality and availability of medical information
  • Sponsoring continuing education opportunities
  • Creating research and institutional endowments
  • Encouraging medical research by osteopathic physicians.

Foundation staff respond promptly to all funding requests, advising on the likelihood for approval and the timing for final consideration.
