Susan G. Komen® Columbus and OHFN Funding Awards Announced

In March, the Osteopathic Heritage Foundation of Nelsonville (OHFN) and Susan G. Komen® Columbus announced funding awards through the 2017-2018 Southeastern Ohio Breast Health Initiative. “The Osteopathic Heritage Foundation of Nelsonville is proud to partner with Komen Columbus to ensure vulnerable women in southeast Ohio have improved access to screening, increasing the rate of early detection and reducing late-stage breast cancer diagnoses,” said Susan Beaudry, director of programs, Osteopathic Heritage Foundations.

With a shared commitment to improving health and quality of life in southeast Ohio, OHFN and Susan G. Komen® Columbus formed a funding partnership to improve the continuum of care in six underserved counties in the region. Prioritizing collaboration among service providers, the selected organizations address multiple barriers and provide evidence-based services essential to the continuum of care: education, screening, diagnosis and treatment. The funding investments made through the partnership align with Susan G. Komen’s® bold goal to reduce by 50 percent the number of breast cancer deaths in the U.S. by 2026.
