Osteopathic Heritage Foundation Approves Over $1.8 Million to Support Healthy Aging

In June 2016, the Osteopathic Heritage Foundation approved funding totaling $1,877,395 for seven Franklin County agencies to support health and wellness programs, case management, and transportation services for an estimated 9,000 of the community’s most vulnerable, older adults. $2 Million Funding Award Announced for CHOICES for Victims of Domestic Violence

“The Osteopathic Heritage Foundation has approved a $2 million lead gift to Lutheran Social Services of Central Ohio, to support the CHOICES for Victims of Domestic Violence campaign to construct a new shelter in Franklin County,”
said Terri Donlin Huesman, vice president. “It is distressing our community needs it, but there is a critical need for a new shelter, and we are pleased to be in a position to provide a leadership gift to help launch the campaign.” Learn more about the capital campaign in support of CHOICES.

The Osteopathic Heritage Foundation of Nelsonville continued a successful partnership with the Rocky Community Improvement Fund (RCIF), announcing nearly $40,000 in funding awards as part of the spring 2016 grant cycle. Heritage College of Osteopathic Medicine Convocation & White Coat Ceremony

Stephen C. Shannon, DO, MPH, and president of the American Association of Colleges of Osteopathic Medicine, addressed 246 future doctors and surgeons from the Ohio University Heritage College of Osteopathic Medicine at the 41st Heritage College Convocation and White Coat Ceremony in July. The incoming medical students were presented with a short white coat symbolic of their status as student doctors. Learn about the ceremony.
